India Schools : The Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s V. M. Public School, Baroda
The Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Vallabhram Mehta Public School was founded in 1966 by Shri K.M. Munshi.
The school is situated at Makarpur Road in Baroda and has an area of 36 acres. The school has three Halls of residence for boys, each hall being divided into Houses of about 30 boys under the care and supervision of a resident teacher House - Parent. Girls and KG children are admitted as day boarders only. The food served in the dining hall is vegetarian.Day boarders have lunch, afternoon snacks and tea at school. The school has a full fledged Computer Centre and Computer education starts from Standard I.
The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education. The school follows the 10 + 2 pattern and has classes from KG to standard XII. Students appear for the All India Secondary Examination at the end of Std. X and the All India Senior School Certificate Examination at the end of Std. XII. In Standards XI and XII the school offers two groups of optional subjects :
- Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry & Biology.
- Mathematics/Geography/Computer Science, Commerce, Accounts and Economics.
The age of admission to Standard I must be between 5 1/2 years and 6 1/2 years. Boarders (boys only) are admitted from Standard III to IX depending on the number of vacancies. Day boarders (boys and girls) are admitted in KG I only. Admission as per rules are made in the month of April for the academic year commencing from July.

The school has spacious play grounds and provides facilities for all major games like football, cricket, hockey, basketball, volleyball and athletics. There are facilities of tennis, badminton, table-tennis, gymnastics and skating too. Karate and yoga asanas are also taught. Professional coaches impart instruction in the techniques of various games to the students. Inter House and Inter School sporting events are held throughout the year.
The academic year usually starts from 1st July and the summer vacation commences from April end. The year is divided into two terms.
Extra Curricular Activities
Activities pursued in the school are music, dance, art and crafts, dramatics, quiz, debating, Nature Club, Computer Club and SUPW like gardening and social service.
