Manav Kendra Gyan Mandir was started with 27 students in the year 1987 by His Holiness Param Sant Thakar Singhji Maharaj as a purely residential school on the lines of our ancient gurukul system with healthy guru-shishya relations. The aim of the school was to prepare students who would not only have sound modern education but also have spiritual development.
Hence this school provides education for body, mind and soul. The school has already shaped itself into a fine residential school with a strength of 483 students.
The school has a campus of its own sprawled over 26 acres of land. It is located on the National Highway No. 8, 30 kms. away from Baroda, free from the hustle and bustle of city life. Pollution-free environment, blooming flowers, lush green lawns and tall trees add to its beauty. Buildings are divided mainly into six sections:
- Administrative Block containing Parentsí lounge, Vice-Chairmanís office, Principalís office, reception, fee-counter, account office and general office.
- Academic Block containing class rooms, two Vice-Principalís offices, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Computer and Language laboratories, Art room, Music Room and Library.
- Hostels for Boys and Girls.
- Meditation hall, Dining hall, gymnasium, Open-air theatre, Indoor games hall, Swimming pool and Stable for horses.
- K.G. section including class rooms, hostels and play-park.
All the members of teaching staff are well- educated, most of them being postgraduates with a degree or diploma in teaching. The staff is carefully selected with ability to teach effectively and also to guide the students in games and co-curricular activities.
There are 483 girls and boys on rolls, ranging from 3 1/2 years to 18 years. As the school is exclusively residential, all the students are boarders.
The school is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) New Delhi for All India Secondary School Examination (AISSE - Class X) and All India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE - Class XII). The classes are KG-I, KG II and standard I through XII with Science and Commerce streams at +2 level.

Both boys and girls attaining 3 1/2 years of age are admitted to KG-I as residential students. Admission forms along with prospectus can be had on payment of Rs. 200/- from the school fee counter and Rs. 250/- if required by registered post. Spot-admissions are given on first-come-first-served basis in KG. In other classes admission is given on the basis of written test and interview.
Play grounds and facilities for all major indoor and outdoor games and sports exist in the school. Besides soccer, cricket, basketball, volleyball, handball, tennis, throwball, table tennis, badminton, air-rifle shooting, kho-kho and kabaddi, excellent facilities exist for horse-riding, gymnastics, swimming, athletics and school band. The school is a member of Equestrian Federation of India. Our students and horses participate regularly at the National Equestrian Championship every year and have been winning several medals, prizes and certificates in National and International meets.
Three unit tests, two terminal examinations, one pre-final examination and an annual examination are conducted. The school has earned a reputation of producing excellent result. The CBSE examination results of last five years is almost 100% with several distinctions.
Extra Curricular Activities
The co-curricular activities pursued in the school are debates, declamations, dramatics, geeta shloka, quiz, poem recitation, essay writing, art and craft, music, dance etc. are encouraged for constructive use of leisure. Educational tours, excursions, hiking, trekking and adventure courses are integral part of our curriculum.
