India Schools : The Sacred Heart High School, Dalhousie
The Sacred Heart High School was founded in March 1901 with five pupils who came with some Belgian nuns. Despite many hardships the sisters built up the school.
The aim of the school is to prepare for the future by careful cultivation of the mind. Education plays a unique role in man’s integral growth as well as in society’s development and reconstruction. The school encourages the students to aim at excellence in various fields of knowledge.
The Sacred Heart High School is a residential-cum-day school. It has a building designed in the ‘British style’ which overlooks a large and beautiful garden.
The school is situated in the heart of Dalhousie , among perennial snow-clad mountains covered with fir and pine trees. Dalhousie is a little known hill resort of Himachal Pradesh.
There is a friendly interaction between people in the educational institution. Thus the school helps its students to become good citizens.
The sisters and the staff develop in the children, qualities necessary to build up a good personality.
