The member of the Jain community have focused their attention on the sphere of education by establishing the Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain Educational and Cultural Trust. The trust has founded and runs a bouquet of ten institutions in and around Bangalore. In 1999, the trust established the Jain International Residential School, this school is a unique blend of the the best modern education and the ancient Indian gurukula system - preparing children to become leaders with a global outlook and with a deep sense of values.
The school campus spread over a hundred and fifty acres, a staff strength of over three hundred people, a world- class infrastructure with a project outlay of Rs seventy five crores. The campus consists of administrative and academic blocks ,dining rooms, kitchen, sports fields and dormitory blocks, staff apartments (north and eastern end of the campus). Jain International Residential School is a township by itself.
JIRS is affiliated to the central board of secondary education (CBSE), Delhi (up to std.X). Affiliation is sought for CBSE board (10+2) and pre-university board for P.U.C I & P.U.C II courses.
The registration form should be filled, along with 12 copies of passport size photos, account payee bank draft for registration fee (non refundable), medical form signed by medical practitioner/ physician, copies of the previous and current year reports and character recommendations by the principal of the studentís present school.
After registration the applicant has to take an entrance test in curricular subjects like English, Maths and science. selected candidates will be intimated and given provisional admission. Selection is based strictly on the performance of the student only. Candidate will be given admission after payment of the necessary fees and after going through the medical check-up and personal interviews successfully.
A variety of games fields, courts and a swimming pool, all built to highest of standards and specifications form part of the sports infrastructure of the school. School provides facilities for table tennis, cricket, aquatics, horse riding, jogging, yoga, gymnasium.
Extra Curricular Activities
