India Schools : M. E. S. Raja Residential School, Raja Nagar
The school imparts modern education with special emphasis on moral and religious education. The school is sponsored by the Muslim Educational Society (Regd.) Calicut.
The secondary school section of the school is conducted in a two storeyed modern building. The Junior College for girls (+2 of C.B.S.E.) is in the newly constructed Girls School Complex. Two hostel buildings accommodate the boys. Girls are in four dormitories in a block of hostel in the Girls School complex in a separate compound. The school mosque is very near the hostel. The stadium and grounds for various games are within the campus.
A well qualified and competent staff, as insisted by the C.B.S.E., handle the subjects devoting their entire attention in fostering the fine tastes, faculties and instincts inherent in children. They undertake the responsibility of nurturing the child into well disciplined students. Four qualified religious instructors impart religious education in the fundamentals of Islam. The teachers stay in the campus in one block of the teachers hostel.
The school is run on the pattern of public schools with English as the medium of instruction. Malayalam and Hindi are taught as second and third languages. Arabic is taught as an additional language. The secondary school (Classes I to X) is for boys and girls. In the +2 stage (Classes XI and XII ) only girls are admitted. The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi and is open to all communities.
The fees for secondary classes I to X a total of Rs. 15250/- , with an Entrance fee for new admission of Rs. 100/-. A refundable caution money of Rs. 500/- is charged. Fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
Application for admission to Class I to IX should be submitted in the prescribed form. The last date for submission of application forms is April. A certificate to prove the age of the student should be attached with the application form. Admission will be given after a test and assessing the standard of the child.
Training is given in sports activities like sprints, jumps, throws etc. There are sufficient facilities for football, volleyball, badminton, cricket, basketball etc. Carom board, table tennis and chess are the indoor games. Separate arrangements are made for girls for sports and games.
For proper evaluation a test is conducted after every 30 working days. There are two terminal examinations in a year. The annual examination is conducted in March every year. Promotion of students is based on the performance of the whole year. Progress cards are sent to parents after every monthly test and terminal examination. Students for All India Secondary School Examination have been presented with 100% results. Batches of girls were also presented for the All India Senior School Certificate Examination and in this examination also a cent per cent result was achieved.
Extra Curricular Activities
The senior students get themselves enrolled as members into different clubs of the school such as Forestry Club (which is recognized by the Wild Life Department of the State Government). Photography Club, Social Science Club, Philatelic Club, etc. and carry out different activities.
