VITEEE - Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam

Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE) is conducted by Vellore Institute of Technology University and the center of exam that are located in all the major cities across India. The VIT University is located at Vellore in Tamil Nadu. It was founded by Mr. G. Viswanathan in 1984, who is chancellor now. The University has got status of deemed university by Ministry of Human Resources, Govt. of India. Vellore Institute of Technology is one of the reputed and recognized Universities in India. The University has an honour of being first institution in India to be accredited by the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) and the Energy Institute (EI), UK.

The University is established with the intention of providing quality education to the students of all states in India. In order to achieve its objective the university conducts entrance test for admission to B. Tech. degree programmes every year. The entrance exam is known as VITEEE. VIT has established its value across the country that everyone wants to have B. Tech. degree from the university. VIT University offers 12 academic streams for B. Tech. programme every year. More or less one lac students appear for the entrance exam which is held around in 70 cities all over India.

Eligibility Criteria for VITEEE

  • Candidates should have passed in 10+2 or its equivalent with at least 60% marks in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics or Biology (PCM/PCB)

  • Candidates hailing from Jammu & Kashmir and form North Eastern States of Meghalaya, Tripura, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Sikkim and Mizoram should have passed in 10+2 or its equivalent with at least 50% average marks in Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics or Biology (PCM/PCB).

  • Candidates who belong to SC/ST category should fill in the appendix-VI and get it attested by competent authority.

  • Candidates hailing from Jammu & Kashmir and the North Eastern states of Meghalaya, Sikkim, Mizoram, Assam, Tripura, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram must fill in Certificate to Provide Nativity given in appendix-V

  • Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) candidates are eligible only for B. Tech. Biotechnology, Bioinformatics and Biomedical Engineering Programmes.

  • Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) candidates are eligible for all the Progarmmes.

    The above mentioned documents should be produced at the time of counseling, in case documents are not produced, the student will not be considered for admission.
