HNLU Hidayatullah National Law University

Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU) is located in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. It is one the leading law institutes in India. The university conducts an entrance exam for admission to various law courses. It offers two five-year integrated courses, BA.LLB. and BSc. LLB. The programme comprises a total number of 10 semesters in five years. The candidates who are willing to take admission to the above courses are required to appear for the test.

The university was established by the Government of Chhattisgarh under the Hidayatullah National Law University of Chhattisgarh Act, 2003. HNLU is a well recognized university and as a result, ranked six among the ten top most National Law Schools in India. The name of the university goes after the legendary justice, Hidayatullah. The university is recognized by Bar Council of India under section seven of the Advocates Act. It offers a number of opportunities to the students to interact with judges, lawyers, firms, academicians and other law firms. HNLU is a residential university.

The university aims to impart legal education in the country. The objective of the university is to publicize learning and knowledge of law, to make the students aware of their responsibility as a lawyer in the society and enhance their skills in respect to judicial, advocacy, legislation, law reforms, legal services, etc. The aim of the university is to give training to its students as to become good lawyer among others. It also puts emphasis on their behaviour and expects that students should follow moral and ethical values in their profession and life.

Eligibility Criteria :

  • The candidates should have passed 10+2 exam or equivalent with at least 50 % marks in aggregate.
  • The candidates must be of 20 years of age during the time of admission. Students above 20 years of age will not be eligible.
  • There are total 80 seats and out of which 50 % are reserved for the students who belong to Chhattisgarh State.
  • The students who have not passed any qualifying exam are not eligible to apply.

There is reservation for the candidates who belong to SC/ST. The candidates who belong to Chhattisgarh State will get reservation as per norm of State Govt. and the candidates who belong to any other State will get reservation as per the norms of Central Govt. Application Procedure :
The prospectus and application form can be obtained from university office. To get the form, candidates are required to send a request to Registrar, HNLU, Bank Draft for requisite amount drawn in favour of Registrar, HNLU payable at Raipur. The candidates can also download the application form from the university website. They need to visit the website, click on the application option, print out the form, fill in properly, and send it the above said address along with the Demand Draft for required amount.

It must be noted that the form should reach before or on the last date of the submission. No form will be accepted after the last date and no correspondence will be made in any circumstances.
